8 side effects reported for SLU-PP-332: 2 from studies and labels, 6 from users and guides. 1 come with the ways people manage them.
Side effects reported in studies and labels
From trials and regulators2
Clinical studies and regulatory documents.
No overt toxicity (mice)
No overt toxicity, normal blood counts and no creatine kinase signal at 50 mg/kg twice daily for 10 days; no rise in liver enzymes over 28 days
How people manage it
- Mouse studies ran 12 days to 8 weeks. No long-term or human safety data exist.
Poor tolerance of twice-daily injections (ob/ob mice)
The ob/ob mouse study was cut to 12 days because the mice tolerated twice-daily abdominal injections poorly
Side effects users and guides report
From users and guides6
Community reports, competitor and vendor guides, media.
Fatigue or a 'metabolic shift' feeling
Reported by some users in the first 1 to 2 weeks; usually passes. One user on 500 mg a day orally reported lasting fatigue and low libido
Sleep changes or feeling wired
Some users report deeper sleep, others mild insomnia at higher doses or a stimulated feeling
Higher resting heart rate
Reported by a subset of users; not measured in any controlled study
Stomach upset with oral use
Mild GI discomfort in some users taking it by mouth or under the tongue
Injection-site reactions
Reported with routine subcutaneous use
Night sweats
Reported by one oral-drop user at 1,200 to 1,800 mcg a day
How much is known
Animal data only
Mice only, plus cell work (including muscle cells from human biopsies treated in the dish). 50 mg/kg twice daily by abdominal injection: about 70% longer treadmill running after 7 days, and about 12% lower weight in obese mice after 28 days with no change in food intake. 25 mg/kg daily for 8 weeks reversed kidney ageing markers in old mice; it improved survival in a mouse heart failure model. No human trial is registered.
