How it is thought to work. Lab work shows Selank slows the enzymes that break down enkephalins, the body's own calming opioid peptides. Animal studies link it to changes in GABA-related gene expression, and cytokine shifts were seen in anxious patients. It is broken down into short fragments such as TKPRP, TKP, RP and GP. How it calms people is not fully mapped.

Users tie the burn to bacteriostatic water in DIY sprays. One guide puts nasal irritation at 10 to 15% at higher doses, without a source.
How people manage it
One r/Peptides user had all three at 200 mcg subQ. One guide says headache is occasional in the first 1 to 3 days; another puts it at 5 to 10%, without a source.
How people manage it
Called rare by one guide; another puts it at 5 to 8%, without a source
Reported by a few r/Peptides users, often while on other compounds too
How people manage it
A few anecdotal, confounded reports on r/Peptides; others in the same thread saw no hair loss. No study reports it.
Rare user reports: paranoia, palpitations and a panic attack followed by a crash. One user had worse anxiety on subQ but relief on nasal.

Fridge at 2 to 8 C with an 18 to 24 month shelf life per one guide. Another says freeze at -20 C for long-term storage and use the fridge short term.
Guides disagree on how long mixed Selank keeps: 2 to 3 weeks, 3 to 4 weeks, or 21 to 30 days. 21 days is the window all three allow.
Russian 0.15% drops: unopened, keep away from light at 10 C or below and do not freeze; shelf life is 2 years. Once opened, keep at 25 C or below and use within 15 days. One drug reference lists 2 to 8 C instead.
Mixed with: Bacteriostatic water for injection; sterile saline or sterile water for nasal sprays
Mixing. For sprays, users dilute further so one pump gives the dose they want. 10 mg in 5 mL gives about 200 mcg per 0.1 mL pump; 10 mg in 10 mL gives 100 mcg. Pumps vary from about 0.025 to 0.20 mL, so calibrate yours.
By far the most common pairing on r/Peptides: Semax in the morning for drive, Selank later for calm. Some users only tolerate Semax with Selank alongside. One guide suggests Semax 100 to 200 mcg plus Selank 250 mcg in the morning, or Semax 200 to 300 mcg AM and Selank 250 to 500 mcg PM. Critics of premixed blends say they lock you into a 1:1 ratio.
Mentioned by an r/Peptides user as an add-on for mood.
Named alongside Selank in an r/Peptides anxiety thread. No dose or rationale given.
One r/Peptides user adds 100 mcg oxytocin subQ for social anxiety.
Run together with Semax and Selank in a long-running r/Biohackers log.
Some users follow a Semax and Selank cycle with Pinealon.
Selank with an acetyl group added to the front of the chain (about 794 g/mol vs 752). Sold as N-acetyl Selank or NA-Selank Amidate. No clinical or preclinical study exists on it.
Human data come from small Russian trials: 62 patients vs medazepam, 60 vs phenazepam, 70 as an add-on to phenazepam, plus a cytokine study. The label reports 92.8% nasal bioavailability. Animal work covers route comparisons, nose-to-brain delivery and GABA-related genes. A ClinicalTrials.gov search on 2026-10-23 found no registered Selank trials.
An approval withdrawn, or removed from FDA's compounding lists.
Not FDA approved. FDA lists Selank acetate (TP-7) among bulk substances nominated for compounding and then withdrawn, noting possible immunogenicity and missing human safety information. It is not on the Category 2 list.
Registered in Russia as 0.15% nasal drops (ЛП-№(010951)-(РГ-RU) since July 15, 2025, replacing ЛСР-003338/09), held by Peptogen and sold without a prescription; ATC N05BX. One guide says it is not on the WADA Prohibited List. WADA's own site could not be checked, so whether it falls under the S0 class for unapproved substances is not verified. Belgian regulators found Selank in seized products.
WADA: Not confirmed
Most guides land at 250 to 500 mcg per nasal dose, 2 to 3 times a day, or 250 to 500 mcg once a day by injection. The full spread runs from 100 to 1,000 mcg per dose and 200 to 2,700 mcg a day. The 2,700 mcg figure comes from a small Russian anxiety study as cited by guides.
The Russian label and every human trial use the nose. Users split both ways: some find nasal stronger and subQ useless, others the reverse. One commenter claims subQ needs 1.5 to 2 times the nasal dose, with no source behind it.
The maker says 5 to 20 minutes in healthy people. In anxiety disorders, about half respond on day 1 and the rest from day 3. Users report anything from 5 to 10 minutes to only feeling it on a second cycle.
Minutes. The Russian label says nasal Selank appears in plasma within 30 seconds and its level falls over 5 to 5.5 minutes. Guide figures, mostly unsourced, run from about 2 to 10 minutes: 2 to 10, 2 to 5, about 3, about 2 in the lab, and 2 to 3. It breaks down into short fragments (TKPRP, TKP, RP, GP).
In the blood, minutes. The effect lasts longer: the maker says up to 24 hours. Guides say 3 to 6 hours or 12 to 24 hours. Users report about 3 to 4 hours nasal and 4 to 5 hours or all day subQ.
Both are common on r/Peptides. Some take 250 mcg before stressful events. Others run it daily, for example 500 mcg 5 days a week.
It depends on the mix and the pump. Most pumps deliver about 0.1 mL, so a 2 mg/mL spray gives about 200 mcg per spray. Pump output ranges from about 0.025 to 0.20 mL by device. Ready-made sprays seen by users deliver 50 or 100 mcg per spray.
Common recipes: 10 mg in 5 mL gives about 200 mcg per 0.1 mL spray; 10 mg in 10 mL gives 100 mcg; 10 mg in 6.67 mL gives 150 mcg. Some dissolve 10 mg in 2 mL bacteriostatic water and add 8 mL saline. For a 5 mg vial, 4 mL gives 125 mcg per spray and 2 mL gives 250 mcg. Calibrate your pump on a known volume before trusting the math.
It works, but users report it burns and can cause nosebleeds. Many use sterile saline or sterile water instead and keep the spray in the fridge.
The Russian drops keep at 25 C or below for 15 days once opened. DIY sprays: yes. Users say refrigerate and discard after 30 days or if the liquid turns cloudy or smells off. Saline sprays have no preservative, so the fridge matters more. One user claims 60 to 90 days. Another found mold in the pump head and swaps it every 2 to 3 weeks.
No effect is the most common complaint on r/Peptides. Reports include nothing at up to 2 mg subQ or 600 mcg nasal, nothing after 7 weeks at 1 mg, and nothing after 2 weeks at 500 mcg. One user felt nothing until a second cycle. Some find a route switch helps.
The label says there is no dependence or habituation. Users mostly report no tolerance, including one who ran 500 mcg 5 days a week for 2 years. A thread titled 'stopped working after 2 days' exists, but its post was removed.
None per the label. Some users notice stress returning after they stop. Users say the effect lingers 1 to 2 days to 2 to 3 weeks after stopping. In the phenazepam trial, the anti-anxiety effect lasted a week after the last dose.
The label runs 14-day courses with 1 to 3 weeks between them. User patterns include 500 mcg daily for 40 days, 2 weeks off, then repeat; 4 weeks on and 4 off; 5 weeks on and 2 to 4 off; 6 weeks on every 3 months. One user runs it 5 days a week with no breaks.
There is no interaction data for these drug classes. The label says Selank combines with any psychoactive or neuroactive therapy. Users warn about serotonin effects, and coming off SSRIs with Selank is a frequent forum topic. Talk to your prescriber before changing an antidepressant.
The maker says yes and claims it reduces alcohol toxicity. No independent data back that claim.
Yes, per the label, which says it is not sedating.
Only a few anecdotal reports exist, usually from people on other compounds too. Semax gets blamed more often. No study reports it.
There is no data either way. No clinical or preclinical study exists on the acetylated form, and the stronger, longer-lasting claims are unsourced. User reports are mixed.
It is not FDA approved and is sold as a research chemical. FDA lists Selank acetate as nominated for compounding and then withdrawn, and says it lacks important human safety information. In Russia it is a registered over-the-counter nasal drop.
