How it is counted
We read 6,830 public posts from 10 peptide and health subreddits, compared with 9,501 in September 2026. A mention is one post that names a compound, or any post in that compound's own subreddit. Side effects and doses come only from posts about a single compound, and they measure what people discuss, never how often anything happens. Every number is computed in code; a model only writes the captions, and any caption with a number we did not compute is thrown out. Full rules on the methodology page.
Every counting rule
- Source: public posts (not comments) in the tracked subreddits, stored by our community job from the Arctic Shift Reddit archive. Authors are never stored.
- A mention is one post that names the compound, or any post in that compound's own subreddit. Per day divides by the days of the month the archive covers; per 1,000 posts divides by all posts in the tracked subreddits that month.
- Side effects and dose amounts are read only from posts about a single compound that have body text. A side effect counts once per post, and not when negated ("no nausea"). Shares are of posts that bring an effect up, never how often it happens.
- Dose amounts are single mg or mcg amounts parsed in code. Ranges, vial and kit sizes, concentrations, amounts next to non-peptides and amounts far outside every sourced dose in our dataset are skipped.
- Questions are posts whose title asks one, sorted into topics by fixed word lists. Example threads are cited by their own titles and links.
- Every number is computed in code. A model writes the captions from those numbers, and a caption with any number not in the computed values is replaced by a code-written one.
